Nail art tips and tricks!!!

Nail Art Tips and Tricks!

  • Not wear that gorgeous glitter polish as often as you might like due to it taking the jaws of life to remove? No worries. Here are 2 ways to make like a bit easier!
    * Cover 10 cotton balls/pads in 100% pure acetone, (if you don’t have pure acetone you will just have to leave the wrap on longer) and place them onto your nails, making sure to cover the entire nail. Then cut strips of foil, and wrap your cotton covered nail in foil. (The foil prevents the acetone from evaporating.) Wait about 10 minutes. Next,  applying a little pressure on your nail, drag the pad and foil off.The glitter should slide right off with the wrap, if not wipe the cotton across the nail 2-3 times and ta-da! Glitter Be GONE!
*Go to your kids school supplies and grab the white school glue. ( Elmers regular school glue, any brand is fine.) Paint a thin layer on top of the nails you want to paint with glitter. Allow to dry. Paint 1 more thin coat once the first is dry. Now when the glue is dry paint away! When you are ready to remove, just take something like an orange stick and lift up the polish near the cuticle. The glitter polish will peal right off! This also does not affect the wear of your polish. It just functions as a base coat! :)

  • Can’t get the top off your go to nail color?
*Wrap a rubber band around the handle. Now try, if this doesn’t  do the trick try running under warm/hot water.

  • Acrylic paint works GREAT for nail art. The best part, if you goof up you can just take a baby wipe and wipe away the mistake! Just remember to allow to fully dry before adding a MUST HAVE top coat.

  • Have a favorite polish that you have had forever, only now its thick and gooy? Don’t throw it out, you can purchase a nail polish thinner and wal-la, like new. NEVER add remover to your polish, It will make it flake.

  • Love that holographic/matte polish but can’t stand that it chips like a window from the 50‘s? Sandwhich time! No, don’t go break for lunch, Apply your polish, top coat and then your polish again! :) Chips be gone!

  • Ever buy a color that in the bottle looks to die for and once you get it home and try it out its sheer and streaky? Try applying white polish first. Just like with a white eyeshadow base, it will make your colors more true to the gorg color you fell in love with on the shelf.

  • Ever wonder how that mani in the photo has that FLAWLESS design? chances are (if the design is simple) they used tape and cut the design out and used as a stencil! You can also use the decorative edge scissors to create pretty designs. Remove the tape before the polish dries to a crisp clean edge.

Time To Get Polished!!

Hello Nail Fairyz!! I have put together a little drugstore nail polish review for you all!

Lets start with the Sally Hansens Sugar Coat in the color "bubble plum." This Polish is SOO cute! The bottle is very deceiving. It appears to be a normal everyday polish until you open the bottle. With one coat you can see a very nice creamy color with a "sugar" texture appearance. I found that 2 coats is really required to get a nice even opaque coverage. The finish is Matte.
Next I would like to talk about "fuzz-sea," a blue green mix of Sally Hansens Fuzzy Coat
I LOVE this polish! It is soooo cute on its own or over so many other colors! 1 coat leaves more of the background to show through. 2 coats is such a unique look! I can't wait to get more of these polishes! I did find that they take a bit longer to dry and smudge very easily until completely dry so just keep that in mind. :)
Moving on to my all time favorite polish ever! Maybelline Color Show, Polka Dots Collection! in "Clearly Spotted"  This I a clear polish base packed FULL of black and white dots in all sizes. There are TINY little black speckles, bigger black pieces, white dots ranging in size, Just a fun polish in general. "Clearly Spotted" looks great on its own or as a top coat to your favorite colored polish. Depending on the amount of coverage you are looking for you can use 1 coat or 2. Will definalty be getting more of the Polka Dots Collection!
I would Just like to mention another Sally Hansen Polish that is my go to for a gorgeous opaque coverage with super speedy dry time. Insa-dry. I have this polish in MANY different colors and fell inlove with it instantly! the light blue and orange in the photo are just 2 of the many colors I own. If your interested in any more of the polishes pictured or even have something you would like to hear about before you buy, let me know and I would love to do a review. I will be doing 6 julep polishes as soon as they arrive in the mail .:) Stay tuned!
